Where can I get a wide saddle?

One of these...

I just want the Ivory Plastic thingy, not the whole pick-up.
The saddle on my CSE44 has grooves dug into it in the wrong places.

I've got a dead pickup you can have if you can make use of the plastic top. I'm not sure if they're meant to be taken apart though...

PM or email your mailing address if you want it.

If you don't want the electronics, you could probably have a custom bone bridge made to fit in there. If you use another of those "thingys" you will end up with the same problem. They're NOT made out of ivory, it's a hard plastic (although I'm sure they call it something else) Who knows, maybe the factory might have some kind of insert to modify the bridge to accept a standard, non-pickup saddle???

They're NOT made outta Ivory?

The saddle was chewed-up by that previous owner.
That photo is not the guitar that needs fixing, although I have one just like it.
And my saddles don't have grooves in them...
At least not real deep ones in the wrong places.
I would not care about the grooves, except they are in the wrong places.
(and I have No Idea how that could happen)
The "A" string pops into the groove and ends-up too close to the "D" string.

Annoying!

Last summer I needed a couple of those and a nut to straighten out some problems.
I contacted B&J Music (The Canadian service rep) in Ontario. No problem. When I offered up my creditcard, he said "Don't worry about it, I'll just stick them in the mail". Service!!
Mylatest LX owners manual states that the nut and saddle on the Custom Legend are made by Tusq (Graph Tech), so I have sent them an e-mail to see if they indeed make the saddle insert. I should know tomorrow.(They do not show one in their saddle listing, but I have the part # for the nut.)

That will be very cool!
Once we have the serial number we could just order the part if we ever need one.
You know that eventually you will need a new saddle...
That would be very convenient.

No luck... :(
Graph Tech confirms that they supply Ovation w/ Tusq nuts, but not the saddles, and they do not know the source of the saddle "inserts" (my word).
I had the same problem;someone had cut slots in the saddle to lower the action. They are held in place w/ silicone and come off easy, so no prob replacing them.

OMA's went out in the mail today. Glad it will be of use.

Does Shadow or Schaller make the saddle pickups? Maybe it would be worth an email? I know I can always make use of those little black end caps. Somewhere there's a box full of them.....

I watch ebay for O parts all the time. There's a seller in Canada with the user name bezdez. For whatever reason they seem to come up with many German parts and I almost think they've had Ovationesque saddle pickups in the past, just not advertised as such.

Thank You Kindly.

Once I swap them out, maybe I can take a finger nail file and reshape the old one.

Or maybe fill in the dents with crazy-glue... Something creative to salvage it.

I emailed Shadow about spare parts. Doubt it will result in anything but I had to try.

The logical place to get them then seems to be the MS....

Thank You KSDaddy!

Now for those of you who didn't know that these come apart...
Here it is in one piece:

Here is is separated:

The pickup are somewhere inside that white goop:

And here is the view from the top:

Now I will be cleaning-up the new saddle and eventually switching it with the chewed-up one in the CSE44.
Once again... Thank You, Scott.
