People have started to bid this up higher than I expected, but the bidders have low feedback numbers. Seems like some old parts on something like an Ovation bowl. The pickup might be worth a few bucks, or not. What the heck is it?

I have no idea what it is. I threw a bid on it early but promptly got stomped. Doubt I'll bid again.

If that's an original 50s DeArmond, that could fetch a couple hundred bucks on its own.

it's a piece of shit 60s bad copy
don't waste your time or money on it.
Now if you want just the pickup that's another story, I don't know what that's worth but the guitar is about 10 bucks, something to use with a 30-30 for a target....

I was thinking "piece of junk" when I saw it also. Looks like someone just paid $150+ for a trash guiter. I've seen some nice old roundbacks go for that much with a few finish cracks. Oh well.

I wonder if the buyer was buying the pickup, or they just bought that POS and have no clue how cool and sought-after that old DeArmond is.

Had I won it, I would have flipped the DeArmond and wound up with a free oddball wallhanger.

People love those old DeArmond pickups. You can get that half-electric-ish sort of sound with a modern equivalent and a suitable amp. And there's a better chance that it will work.
