It is a pejorative term and not at all flattering to the organization or the hard-working people who make up the organization. If you truly believe they are evil, why are you inflicting this on us here who you proclaim to be wanting to help people by directing them to an evil greedy corporate entity? Why are you even spending any time looking there if you believe they are evil? Just don't go there ... and leave us stupid fools on our own to be tricked by the evil, greedy people of the world. I have more than a handful of friends who work for eBay. Most of them have been there since it was a fledgling young company with a vision. Of good things for the world. Not a single one of them are evil people. My next door neighbor has worked for eBay for many years ... he is one of the nicest people you would ever meet, would never hurt a fly, and truly believes that eBay is providing a valuable service to people worldwide. He would be truly hurt to be called evil or implicated that he was doing something ugly and untoward to his fellow man. I have never felt I was entering the depths of hell when dealing on eBay ... quite the opposite - with the rare exception, I have found the people I have encountered there honest, forthright, and overwhelmingly good. If you have other experiences, that is fine. But do not come spewing hate here. I personally use eBay as both a buyer and a seller. I find it ugly and extremely offensive that you are painting me with the same broad brush and calling ME evil. And further, if you truly feel that way, then you are further fostering the evil directly onto people by pointing us there. Why would you want your "friends" here to deal with evil people? It makes no sense to me and I am tired of it. RANT OFF. Sorry. Back to your regularly schedule program.

Take a look at the top management and you will see NUMEROUS notables that could easily have gone to the 'Madoff School Of Business'... or worked for Enron (hmm, I think some of them might have...). Plus look at their business practices... My pet peeve, paying 95 cents on the Canadian dollar... When our currency is trading HIGHER than YOURS!! How about the '45 days to appeal being ripped off' rule... If they really gave a shit there would be NO time limit on appealing... especially when they KNOW certain people trading there are CON ARTISTS and are experts at manipulating their systems and rules!! In my first 10 transactions on there, I was ripped off 3 times by people with histories of doing the same thing OVER and OVER again!! I won all my appeals, but that doesn't do anything for the stress this nonsense causes!! EBAY is like 99% of corporations today... they are there to MAKE MONEY!! They pay lip service to caring for their customers, but do you really think that is anything other than window dressing... And just wait till they are bought out by the Chinese... Think you have been taking a screwing up till now... JUST WAIT!!

But to the Death Metal crowd, evilBay is a compliment. It is where you get evil looking guitars. I buy an sell on feeBay all the time, and the cost keeps going up. Every time I get an email from them it is to tell me how they are gonna charge me more for diminishing returns from the site. But I keep hoping for the best. The people that buy and sell there are 99.999% good people. It is the Corporate executives that run it who are evil. Yes, they all went to the Enron school of business. So, back to the fiberglass puddle under the bridges.

I always considered the terms Evilbay, Fleecebay Fleabay etc......more as a bit of lighthearted banter rather than a comment or slight on their corporate strategies or personnel. And yes they are in business to make money.....as is any business. Profit is not a dirty word. AJ
