Location: Tropical Southern Wisconsin | I recently bought a factory 2nd Celebrity and it came with half the piezo dead right out of the box. Since it's a factory 2nd, I'm S.O.L. with no warranty & the seller won't even reply to my requests for a replacement since the guitar was sold 'in new condition, just stamped as used by the factory'. Stupid me - I figured 'new condition' meant it actually worked.
Anyone have an Ovation peizo pickup they want to get rid of? I'll upgrade if necessary, but the stock sounds fine for as little as I plug it in - on the lower 3 strings anyway. I figure upgrading it for big $$$ would be like lipstick on a pig so if you've upgraded your guitar's pickup, I can use your original.
Cheers,
- JJ

If no one here has one, contact the Ovation factory for a replacement. The piezo element should not be that expensive. |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | I have used Artec PP607 to replace the piezo in my CK047 plus a create an A/E Trekker.
You can get them on evilBay for about $18 from Hong Kong if you wanna wait a coupla weeks.
Maybe less time more locally.
But I know from experience that Artec will plug straight into an OP11, OP20 and OP30, maybe more.
I have used the PP607, but other sizes may fit also... So measure your saddle. You can replace the saddle if necessary.
Here is a partial list of sizes to give you an idea of what is available.
Prices of these are all over the place, so if money is an issue (it is to me) shop around. :p |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | You know that is totally subjective.
Since the piezo died in my CK047 I could not do a side-by-side...
But it does sound pretty good.
It would hold-you-over until you could get one from the factory. |
