This guitar varies from other 6778LX models in that it has single sided epaulets and is in the uncommon Vintage Natural finish. $599 shipped/insured to the lower 48. International shipping only to established and active OFC members. You pay additional shipping charges and all import duties and taxes. This guitar has the easiest playing neck of any Ovation in the family. I have tried to duplicate it on the other guitars but just can't get the others to play as nicely. There is a slight V shape to the neck profile. Mid depth bowl A grade solid Sitka Spruce top Inlaid epaulet LX bracing Op Pro preamp Rosewood fretboard and bridge Original 9158 case Overall excellent condition with a few minor dings. There is a small finish ding in the top near the 20th fret. No damage to the wood, it is a surface chip only. A small bit has been chipped off of the upper corner of the bridge. See the pictures below. There are a half dozen pinhead sized dimples in the finish which may have been from the factory where the finish did not harden mirror flat. They are extremely small, and can only be seen when looking closely in just the right light. They do not photograph. Very minor fretwear in the first 3 frets under the B and G strings. It looks a worse in the pictures than it really is. The case is in excellent condition with a few very minor scuffs from being put into or taken out of the closet. Includes truss rod wrench, original owner's manual, Op Pro owner's guide, quality inspection hang tag, and case key. Monster sized photos available by clicking on the links. You may have to click on the photo when it comes up to super-size it. ![]() Hi-Res photo click here ![]() Hi-Res photo click here ![]() Hi-Res photo click here

I believe I have an answer to the mystery question of why your buddy's Standard Elite has 2 sets of epaulets, and your guitar has only 1. Your guitar was/is a Limited Edition, made only year 2006-2007, and in Vintage Natural finish only. I tried to get one here in Canada, but the Ovation dealer told me they were only available in the U.S. at the time. Yes, I am still looking for one, and may consider selling or trading my 20-year old Mint condition Elite 1778-4 Deep Bowl Cutaway to get one like yours, but maybe neither a trade, nor shipping to Canada, (if I can find the funds to buy it,)is not up your alley. I'm a newbie here, and don't know how to post aything yet. I play guitar/bass in 3 different worship teams here in the Ottawa Valley. My yougest nephew is a helicopter pilot, and so I gave him my copy the Ovation book by Walter Carter. I never got it back yet. oops. I hope the information helps, and God-willing, if your guitar doesn't sell soon, maybe we can work something out. God Bless You, Mike Seguin e-mail: mikegtr@sympatico.ca

In fact I traded another guitar last week instead of selling it, so this one really needs to be sold rather than traded. I would be willing to ship to Ottawa but you would be responsible for all of the taxes and shipping costs, whatever those would be. This is indeed a rare version of the guitar, with very little available on the web. There were a few pictures on store websites, and my exact guitar was the one used for pictures at zozomusic. It also seems to be the same pictures currently on an eastern European website, but I am not sure if I trust that store to be real.

Yes, I would be willing to pay the taxes, duties, shipping costs, etc., but first I need to sell my trusty Elite. By all means, however, if you do get another offer in the lower 48, you are more than welcome to to take it, of course, because it is your guitar, and you do want to sell it. I'll keep checking back to see if it is still available. It may take some creative financing on my part to purhase it. God-willing, it may be difficult, but not impoosible. Does anyone on this site know how I can get my 1990 Ovation Elite 1778-4 deep- bowl cutaway guitar evaluated for sale? Like I said, I' m a newbie here, and don't know much about how all this "social networking" stuff works. Yours truly, Michael R.(Mike)Seguin e-mail: mikegtr@sympatico.ca

Seriously ,though, I am not sure whether I am related to Mathieu Seguin from Sudbury, but I could be...?! THE SEGUIN FAMILY in North America has it own personal coat of arms and its own geneology site. So can I always check there, and ask my Mom, too. Moms know everything, right? Thanks for the welcome. God bless You, Mike Seguin

Joined: August 2002 Posts: 641 Location: Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA | Hi, flysig! Mike Seguin(Junior Member#449) here again. I've updated my photos/for sale/trade/retrofit info on the Ovation NING site. I only have 2 pictures of my guitar there, and so you can look at it there anytime. I'm hoping to be able to post more, but I don't have access to a digital camera. There is still the possiblity? of a trade here on the OFC site, and I just learned from grif that a retrofit fom Canada isn't that expensive after all, so I'm open to anything at this point, including buying your guitar, if my Elite does sell, and/or the possible? trade falls through. If someone else moves on it before me, well and good, and the possible trade?does fall through, then the retrofit for my 1990 Elite Deep Bowl Cutaway 1768-4 is still my final option. I was looking at your pics again today, and I guess I forgot to ask before, "Does your Elite Standard LX-VN guitar w/OP50 preamp have an XLR jack, in addtion to the 1/4 inch, or just the 1/4 inch?" I can't see the XLR anywhwere in the photos. I know some of the earliest/low-end LX models didn't have the XLR jack. I play sitting down all the time, because I'm disabled,(uh-oh,I just used the "D" word here for the first time), and I use a right-angle jack for my guitar input because of that. Planet Waves makes a right angle/swivel XLR jack, but I can't get one here in Canada. I have had some problems with straight LXR connections on other guitars before too, simply because I play sitting down. If you just have the 1/4 inch only, I'm okay, but if you also have XLR in addtion to the 1/4 inch, I'm in trouble. It's great guitar, regardless, and I wish you every success with the sale, but yes, I am hoping you have only the 1/4inch jack on your Elite. Thanks for your support here. Joined: October 2005 Posts: 4071 Location: Utah | Mike, This guitar has only the 1/4" output jack. It has the OpPro preamp, not the Op50. XLR jacks seem to appear when the guitar has an OpPro Studio or the VIP preamp. At least it used to be that way, but apparently the Studio and VIP are becoming standard issue, whereas they used to only go in the highest end models. So I don't know what is now standard for output jacks on various models. There is a circuit board which has both the 1/4" and the XLR jacks mounted to it and the needed impedance matching resistors. If the guitar has an XLR it will also have the 1/4" jack, and you can use either one. I always use an angled 1/4" plug and then run the cord up through the strap to protect it from being pulled out unintentionally. I've used the XLR a few times on stage with a straight plug without any problems.

Joined: August 2002 Posts: 641 Location: Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA | Hi, flysig! Thank you for the quick reply, and further information on your guitar. It helps me out greatly if I 'm dealing with a only 1/4 inch jack from the guitar. In most of my live sitautions, I'm still being put into the house by a direct box,(supplied by the house/church) so the XLR is taken care of by the soundtechs, who absoutely love my Ovation, because they don't have to do anything with it, except find the right connection. I only have problems with the straight XLR conection on some guitars I have used/borrowed which were NOT Ovations, simply because I play sitting down, and I had to be careful not to accidentally hit and/or unplug all the connections. I know that newer models of Ovations have rcently changed the location of both inputs, but to this day, whenever I use my 1990 Elite, the sound guys still try to connectct me through my strap button! "The hole is in the back, guys." Thanks again for you kind help. God bless You, Mike Seguin Junior Member #449 Ottawa,ON, CANADA e-mail: mikegtr@sympatico.ca
