Joined: June 2007 Posts: 20 Location: SE Minnesota | I've been in love with Baritone guitars since I first played one. I just purchased a Santa Cruz Bob Bozman Baritone, so my Ovation Longneck is up for sale.

6-String acoustic/electric baritone guitar with cutaway;
Solid AA spruce top with natural finish and two, 5-piece multi-soundhole epaulets;
Mid-depth roundbowl composite back;
Quintad bracing;
5-piece neck;
Ebony fretboard with maple inlays;
Walnut headstock with gold machine tuners;
Walnut bridge with compensated saddle;
28 1/3" scale length;
1 11/16" nut;
OP-24 onboard preamp with 4-band equalizer, volume control, adjustable notch, with both low-z and high-z outputs;
Built-in chromatic tuner;
Padded ovation luggage-case with key; and
Truss adjustment tool.
The guitar and case are both in excellent plus condition. The soundboard is flawless, there is virtually no fret wear and the neck is straight and true. The only 'flaw'is that the finish on the gold tuner buttons is beginning to wear thin. It is currently strung with DiAddario EJ18 Phosphor Bronze heavy strings and tuned to B - and I will include two new sets of these strings with the instrument. The instrument has always been kept in its case within a smoke and pet free home when not being played and has never been gigged. Photos available on request. $950 includes insured shipping within the continental US.

This one's a deep bowl so it should give that extra little bottom end. I'm sure your preamp is an Optima, not an OP-24. I already own one so I'm not a buyer, but good luck with the sale!

There is just something special about a hand-made guitar - the attention to detail, the little things that make it special. But of course it costs 3 times more than the Longneck! When you pick up the Brozman, the first thing you notice is the solid wood body - the squared-off back feels bigger and less comfortable than the Longneck. The second thing I noticed was the wider nut - a plus given my preference for fingerpicking with my fat fingers. When strummed, the solid wood vibrates much more strongly against your body than does the composite bowl. I do miss the onboard chromatic tuner - you really don't realize how handy that is until it's not there. Before purchasing the Longneck, I compared it to the Tacoma and Yari - and it clearly had more rumble and projection than either of those instruments. I haven't had an opportunity to listen to the Brozman and Longneck side-by-side out front. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do so in the next few days.
