Location: Upper Left USA | That is the best "Bang-for-the-Buck" Ovation going. The early ones are great and the LX versions (have a TRC) are incredible. By covering with the Polane paint it is rugged and can use some excellant tone wood that might not have enough visual grade in natural.

My first O was an 1869 custom legend, and it had a great playability and sound, but lacked a little depth to the tone with the shallow body. My 1778T has an awesome presence, resonance, warmth, etc. It doesn't compare to the sound of a deep-body Adamas, but for the dollar is about the best quality guitar I've ever played. Mine has the OP30 preamp, which is also fabulous in this model.
Definitely not a bad choice! |

Location: Waurika OK | I bought mine used from a OFC member and think it is great. Mine is black, very stealthy looking. Gets good comments from those who see and hear it. The neck has a feel more like an electric guitar.
Mated up with an acoustic amp there are lots of possibilities. |

| Proof that I'm confused: Had an Elite T, sold it. Made money, and the guitar was less than perfect (buyer knew the problems--he bought it in person), but, geez, do I ever regret selling it. |

| Oh, and in case you remember how I got the Elte T (my girlfriend purchased it for me), I used the money to buy a birthday gift for her. But I still wish I hadn't sold that Elite T. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | You shouldn't feel better by comparing yourself to us. I've regretted most of the guitars I sold, and sell very few. If Dave didn't sell so many, he wouldn't have room for the ones he kept and he has a big house. |

Location: Tampa, Florida | sold my Elite T to xnoel. Had to sell it! I have sold off all of my guitars except a great S771 I bought from a pawn shop for $299. I had 2 of the 1778T and loves them both, especially the LX one. I played one today and I still love those guitars. Great guitars, would loxe to see a stripped down version, with a natural top. Not an Elite "T" then, but it would be sweet. |
