Location: Sydney | Hi Trendsetters,
I've got half a set of Ovation classical heads
It's the treble set (G,B,E) and it's chrome with pearl buttons.
Looks like it was made by Schaller, but with the Ovation logo
Just thought I'd post it here in case anyone needed them
Oh, by the way...I'm in Australia...heh
If anyone wants to see a pic...let me know
Peace to all |

If so, put yourself on the map. It would be cool to show club membership outside of north america and europe.

Location: Sydney | Hi Baby Lee,
I don't have any Ovations, they don't turn up too often in Sydney.
I've horse-traded guitars in Sydney for 30 years but I've only had about 4 Ovations ... a semi-acoustic (Preacher?), a black Deacon, and a couple of Balladeers.
(EDIT: I checked... it was a red Tornado with tremelo I had..not a Preacher)
I know where there's an Ovation bass, if anyone in Australia is after one.
I wouldn't mind a nice Adamas or another black Deacon, though
Frank Zappa was using Ovation acoustics when he was doing his 'Stinkfoot' and 'Grand Wazoo' solo's in the 70's...I love that sound
(I play in a Zappa tribute band)
He got that sound by running the bridge saddle pickup of the Ovation into one of the stereo channels (clean) He then ran a magnetic soundhole pickup through a Mutron envelope filter
through a valve amp and into the other stereo channel.
Zappa also used an Ovation classical/electric on "Music for Electric Guitar & Low Budget Orchestra"...it's a great track
Peace to all |
