Location: Muncie, IN | We have a new USA 1777 Ovation guitar with the airbrushed flag on it, and a matching strap. It is brand new and was bought before they were even finished making the first batch. It is #5 out of 75 made. It has 5/75 on the back of the headstock.
Anyone have any idea what this is worth. We bought it and stuffed it away for safe keeping. Never has been played. Thought about selling it, or might keep it and pass it along to my kids. |

uhhh Thought not..Good luck with the sale. Al might know what it's worth. If it's never been sold or played and you're an authorized Ovation dealer, I'd guesss you can sell it as new,that way someone gets a warrant with the purchase. |

Location: Upper Left USA | I believe MSB sold one at $1000 recently. They are available so rarity is not the issue. I would price them a touch higher than the same build Custom Legend. Lovely guitars though.

Location: Tennessee | Woodster ... the 1777 is the flag guitar done in stock Legend trim. There was also a version done in Custom Legend trim, which is also on the Ovation website. I think the limited edition (75) was the Legend trim, rarer but not as bling. |

The 1777-usa (legend)is limited to 75 built, the 1779-usa (custom legend) is a special order. the demand for either does not seem to be that strong judging by the few I have seen trying to be sold on Ebay. but the 1779 plays terrific and to me looks pretty cool in person. for whatever it is worth. could always offer it up on ebay with a reserve, and if it doesn't sell, consider it a sign to keep keeping it. peace |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | The reason I asked about a picture is to see if it has the fancy carved bridge like the one I have on my black custom legend. It is a very nice looking and playing guitar, but they seem to suffer from the old finish crack syndrome. I always wondered why they laid on the finish so thick. I had the same thing happen on my acoustic bass. The repair shop I sent that to had to remove the epaulets and sand the finish down to remove them. I had them put a thin gun-oil finish on it and replace the epaulets. Now the thing plays a lot louder and sounds much better, and the wood looks even better. |

I don't believe they did a carved bridge on that one. The cutom legend version just utilized all the flash, abalone trim and perloid tuners.
but no carved bridge. |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | OK. What a shame though. I have always wondered why they don't still use all the carved flambeau anymore. Especially with the new laser engraving technology available. It doesn't seem that it would cost that much more to include it. |
