The Republic Highway 61 just didn't do it for me so it's on Ebarf.

So following the one in one out protocol it's been replaced by a Gold Tone Paul E Beard Deluxe...

Premier resonator guitar builder, Paul Beard, has teamed up with major musical instrument importer, Gold Tone, to produce a new line of resonator guitars. All were designed by Paul Beard and manufactured in Asia, and then fit with genuine Beard parts, most notably the resonator cone and spider bridge. His highly experienced staff inspect and setup each instrument. Features include the Beard "R" body style made of premium flame maple laminate (top, back & sides), Beard open soundwell design for maximum resonance, 25" scale, square mahogany neck w/ ornately inlaid rosewood fingerboard & solid peghead, body & neck bound, dual screen holes, fan coverplate, chrome plated hardware, gloss sunburst finish.

No it's not a National!

We shall see.

Beard has a real good rep.
Suprising how different the tone is from a biscuit to a spider.

I remember you weren't happy with the quality of the Republic Highway 61.
Did you get satisfaction from the factory or did you just give up and decide to sell it?

I hate to say bad things about Republic in an online forum, all I can say is I was surprised by the quality of that particular one based upon what others have said about their guitars.

It's now on Ebay and already hit the reserve so no worries.

The Gold Tone is more like what I expected for the money. In fact it's a great guitar for the money IMHO.

That's the problem with buying remotely I guess.

Please don't take this as me slating the Highway or Republic, it just wasn't what I thought it would be.
