And you're faced with those game changing decisions. The gun is to your head and you think, well ... I didn't plan on this, and I can't justify this, but if I don't go it I'm probably going to regret it. The question I always ask myself ... Is it better to live with the guilt of DOING IT, or to live with the guilt of NOT doing it. Sometimes it's a tough call. Sometimes not.

And the small amp Brad brought over to the house to play his SSB custom Adamas thru. That thing had a great tone.....

He even mentioned it (and the price) to his wife, who responded with an indulgent chuckle. I played 4 or 5 of the 6 strings and liked them all, particularly a mahogany topped model.

When you have one guitar and buy a second, that DOUBLES your guitar inventory. When you're up to 10 - 15 - 20 and you buy one, it's a smaller effect on the crowd. It all goes back to the bottom line. The correct number of guitars is (all together now!) just - one - more.

There's no way to adjust it. Moody, Did you get to play any of those McPhersons? I've always wanted to play one to see how they sound and feel. If so ... what did you think? The guitars really ring out, very full and loud. Good tone. But they start at $5K. Is it better than my 87C or 1537? Yeah. Is it 5 times (based on price) better than my 87C or 1537? Not even close. If I had the extra cash and could get one easily, I'd think about it. But as it stands, I'm not even thinking about it. In fact, I think I'll go play my 1537 and consider myself lucky......

To get something even nicer the cost/performance/satisfaction curve gets less and less steep. But they start at $5K. Is it better than my 87C or 1537? Yeah. Is it 5 times (based on price) better than my 87C or 1537? Not even close. 1.5 times the price for 40% more performance 2 times the price for 60% more performance 3 times the price for 70% more performance and so on and so on ecking out that last 5-10% can get ridiculously expensive.
