Location: Flahdaw | I'm always amazed at the great songs that are written with 3 or 4 chords...usually G,C,D, and sometimes Em.
My wife recently asked me to learn a song that meant a lot to her. 3 chords. |

My problem is that I really like tunes written by Jimmy Webb and he puts together some of the most interesting chord progressions. I'm working on a tune by him, No Signs of Age, and it's a bear trying to do it with 3 chords.... |

This Ol' Hippie Chick (my age) was sitting next to me on her lunch break and she commented,
"As long as you know those three chords you got it made!" :p
"Those three chords" at that moment were C, G & Am...
Which cover 'Simple Man' and a half dozen other songs if you add a D, or a Fmaj7 every-so-often.
But, alot of "Three Chord Guitar's" songs actually have 4 chords, or they should.
Knocking on Heaven's Door really needs four chords, contrary to what alot of people play. |
