Good question....I do own a Taylor :D .

and just for the record, I do own several of the broccoli headstocks....but once I got the strong desire to own the first one out of the way, it really didn't remain an issue one way or the other for any other Adamii I have since owned.

If you not going to go for a collectors from Al, I have an Adamas 1 in the blue with the cutaway body I am still thinking of selling.
These are not easy to find anymore, the cutaway 1's just don't come around much at auction or on a dealers rack.

G8R, If you can get an early one there isn't a lot of difference, mostly just cosmetic. Go for it.

Mike, if your house was on fire and you could only grab one guitar on the way out the door, which one would it be?

Tim, you have the right answer: They are the priority!
Dave, Obviously the '48 is the most valuable...and it's right where I can grab it quickly after the wife and kids are safe...But the key here folks is to insure your collection: and that takes getting them appraised (this can be a like item value comparison, or a receipt from a purchase, etc.) and of course Pictures, Pictures, Pictures! Save these in an off site place.

I love my wife dearly, but in the grand scheme of things I could find a new wife a whole lot easier than I could find a mint '48 Martin D28.

I'm into maximizing opportunity. Why not ask the wife and kids to grab some of your guitars on their way out as well?

Funny, we're talking about fires today and we just had a tornado touchdown less than a mile from the house...we hunkered down in the music room :D

Back to the original question, Adamas I vs. II, both are winners.

Good luck to you, Tim. You may have a day of clean up down in the boat yard.
