Location: Ottawa, Canada | Hey gang, I live in the great white north and yesteday it was -29 ! I travel a lot and don't want to leave my ADll in the car for obvious reasons. I can pick up an MOB 47 for $280.00. This would give me a beater to take on the road. Is this a decent price for this guitar or is there something else I should consider? |

I'd define the better beater as a better guitar that that sounds good but has been... well... beaten. |

Location: Florida Central Gulf Coast | I place the MOB 47 twix the Celebs and closer to the front line Ovations. With the mid bowl, it's definitely superior, tonally, to the SSB MOB 57. Plugged in, it's like most 'O's with the OP-30.
For the price you're quoting, I say grab it. They're durable, provide a satisfactory unplugged volume and easy to play once set up properly. The one I got had four shims, three thin and one thick, and I removed all the thin ones.
Actually, this would be a great starter guitar for the surfer bum in the family. They could ride and then play on one board. :p
Since it's not my money, I say go for it! |

But it might just be that sudden Shock when you open the case indoors. |

is the official term. Originally in the surfboard Blue motif it is a Mid or SSB Celebrity with a glossy paint job and probably sounds as good as the guitar that comes with the iDea Preamp.
I had a Red "MOB" Applause like object that was fun and posable.
