My 70s Moosup Applause ($12 on ebay) was in a wall hanger that is screwed to a crude lumber guitar storage rack. I had to move it to get at my Tele's case. I took the Applause down and propped it against the wall, right in front of the heat duct. The furnace is only a few feet away and the heat blasts into the shop quite effectively, no grate or register, just a 6" duct coming through the wall.

I forgot to hang it back up.

I came back the next day and realized what I had done. I scooped it up, looked it over, saw no damage or weirdness. I sat down with it, and man, was there some heat coming off that bowl... felt like a heating pad on high.

Plywood top and aluminum neck, the old bugger wasn't even out of tune.

Takes a licking and keeps on ticking....

OK, I had SEX with my old Applause and the offspring were 3 little Applause ukulele's. Only 2 of them were mine. One was a -5.

I left my legend with a teenager and it's still in tune! Seems to have more fret wear and finish cracks though.
