Location: Chicago | I studied years ago with one of Jim Hall's proteges, David Bradley (Berklee grad). He taught me to read a lead sheet, analyze the form etc.
Does anyone out there use the "Real Book" on a regular basis? It's been a Breklee Bible of sorts! |

Location: Chicago | After Christmas dinner I dug an old play-along CD I forgot I had (Abersold series). Good old Joe Pass got me going with this beautiful TUNE. Played it all eve with just the bass track. Man! The song cycles through all TWELVE roots and you wouldn't even know it. "Bird of Paradise" indeed! |

Another example that was very useful for me is "Spain" (C. Corea): it even has the chords and melody for the introduction! |

It is a very good reference book to have. Many many good songs in there. |
