Got my first gig t'night as a . . . "cajon-ist".

Our Own JohnB and my ex-partner Rick (aka "Sloppy Sec . . . uh, Second Shift") are allowing me to "sit-in" with them tonight with my new LP AngleFront . . .

Should be Fun.

It'll be cool t'NOT be one of the guys "up front" taking all the heat, but t'sit in the back & just shrug my shoulders, get drunk & say ". . I dunno, . . I'm just the drummer . . ."

In order to improve my drumming skills, I'm actively canvassing the local pizza shops for a driver's job . . .

A natural, indeed.

All those years of practice finally paid off...

As long as I'm not positioned between "drunk and drunker" when the verbal slap fight breaks out!

I HAVE to bring a recorder tonight.

The shots are on me!

I don't know if he's gonna take your side. You know what they say about a women scorned. :D

All kidding aside. It should be a good time. I'm looking forward to it.

It's all my fault!

We need to think of some cajon-player jokes.

Cajon players are drummers who can't comprehend the moving parts involved with drumsticks . . .

tell ya what...this past sunday there was a huge party for a local guy enjoying his 100th birthday. the guy attends my church and he has family forever not to mention hundreds of friends. there were nearly 500 people at the luau hall and a few bands were there, including mine. i brought the angled cajon to demo and play. it was a major hit (pun intended) and i believe mine is the first one on the island. seems "american idol" is the only place anyone around here has seen a cajon before. even un-mic'd the uuumphh of this thing carries very well.
