I have only once had my Polish name confused with someone else. If someone shares my last name, it is a fairly close relative.
After working on a brief construction project one summer in Chariton, Iowa, I got a followup call from the foreman, wanting to hire back some of the crew for another job. He told me he lost the job records and could only remember nicknames. Mine was Pollock. I asked how he remembered my name to know to call me. He said he looked in the phone book until he found a name that looked Polish. The town had about 5000 people, so I asked him how many Polish names he called before he got to mine, which begins with a P. He said I was the first one. I guess the Polish minority in Chariton was even smaller than I thought.

Two Wongs don't make a right, but three Wongs make the OFC ALRIGHT! [Big Grin]
Is this Phil, or did I ring the Wong number?

WOW!! I just picked up AJ's guitar. It is in pristine condition, not a mark on it anywhere. It plays like a dream, and it might just be the best sounding O I have ever heard! It is LOUD, and it rings, and I sure wish I could keep it. I'll be taking it home with me tonight, then tomorrow it'll be on the way to Austrailia. Now the problem is, I want one....
