I'm having a bit of a problem with it plugged in though. Not sure if it's the amp, or if airlocks would help, or a pick up problem, or....
Plugged my guitar into my Crate CA-30DG acoustic amp. It's a great amp when used with my Martin and my classical guitar. It has everything on it that I would think would be great for this guitar too. It has 3 EQ's and several different effects. With my other acoustics I like as pure a sound as possible, so the only effects I've used, if any, are the chorus settings. Volume and gains are both set really low for these guitars.
I just haven't been able to get the 1537 to work well. The 6th string is really really loud even with the low EQ turned all the way down. The mid and high EQ's are turned all the way up, volume and gain are lot higher than I think they should have to be to get volume and sound from them. I'm getting virtually no sound at all from the 5 string even when I turn the low EQ all the way up, which of course blasts the 6th string.
What's your best guess as to the problem, and how to I correct it?

Location: Pennsylvania | AJ, Yep, I started with a brand new battery, and yes, I made sure the poles were correct. :-)
Oh, forgot to mention in my original post that I am using the mono and not the stereo plug. I remember someone mentioned to do that in my original thread when I received the guitar. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I've done the same thing. I don't plug in enough to keep track of those things like the stereo jack. A little trick I discovered is that if you loan your guitar for a week to someone like Waskel and leave a set of strings in the case, it will come back all clean, with new strings and battery installed. I need to do that more often. |

See, Depa, I've made mistakes, too. I knew I messed up somewhere. Next time I'll get it right.
Glad it worked out for you, take BB's advice and switch the jack labels. Looks like someone already did that once.

Location: Pennsylvania | It sounds great, Fridave! I still have to do some tweeking of the EQ's but I'm very happy with it. The 1537 sounds just as clean as true to the acoustic sound compared to when it's unplugged as my other gits (Yamaha classical and Martin 000-16GT. It's a much different guitar than the others, has a fuller sound. I think that's the word to describe it.
I amp the other two mostly for volume. Want and get a pure acoustical sound with them. I use the Chorus but haven't used the other effects with them. I'm definitely going to play around with more of the effects with this guitar to see what sounds I can get. |
