| hey there everyone. i have a Ovation Celebrity CC44 and for some reason its not grounding. does anyone have a wiring diagram for this guitar? i think its an older one cause the preamp is square unlike that bowl looking preamp on most new ones.
problem was. that when we got it we had the 6th string not sounding and it was way low. so i went to check it and someone had soldered the crap out of the old pickup (got this guitar at a pawn shop.) so of course... i had to get a new pickup, i got a fishman thin line saddle pickup. i soldered it in very nicely (ive been doing it a while) and everything sounds loud and clear. but when i turn the volume up. all i hear is the "60 cycle" hum. but... it goes away when i touch my finger to the output jack. like it grounds out and its perfectly fine. so ive looked and looked for a problem where there is something not grounded and im positive everything is. so im thinking could it be the preamp? or has anyone ran into this problem? and if so how did you fix it?
a main thing, is if i can get a wiring diagram for this model i think i can take it from there. PLEASE help everyone :) i love this guitar and i want to play it. not let it sit there on the work bench wondering whats next. thanks again |

| Welcome. If you go to this page you can ID the specific pre-amp you have. That might help us figure it out. |
