Yes, I did several searches and couldn't find any answers...

Has anyone had a broken headstock 'ear' repaired/replaced at the MS?

I have an old CC57 that has about 1/2" missing off the bass side of the headstock. I'd include a pic but the git is in temp storage during our den remodeling 'experience'.

I really don't like the Vincent van Gogh look...

TIA!

I had one repaired by a local luthier and he did a nice job. He milled a section of mahogany and spliced it in perfectly and refinished it. You had to look real hard to see it. Cost me $125. which I thought was pretty reasonable for amunt of work he did.

I'm not sure about your CC57. That's handled by Kaman Service, not Ovation. I think they do warranty work only, no out of warranty repairs or custom work. You could call and ask.

i had it repaired by my luthier. it's visible, but looks better repaired than not. As in Tupperware's case, he just milled section of mahogany and glued it to headstock.

I didn't even think of the Kaman/Ovation diff!

Maybe it would be easier if I get a used headstock, sever along the thicker 'shovel' arch and splice.

Thanx for the info and food for thought gents!

One of these days I'm going to try it myself on my Country Artist. I've got some mahogany, but I've been using it to put the guitar hangers on.
