I have a need to know something that may be the same need for many other musicians and the answer may be useful when choosing a guitar. I have a 1616 Ovation Concert Classic Acoustic Electric and know well their sound, both the natural acoustic (unplugged) as electricity (plugged). It attracts a lot of Ovation Acoustic Electric Classic 1613 but I have no chance to try one of these to know exactly how it sounds. I know that both have nylon strings, pine top, deep bowl. We also know that the 1616 has only a volume control and a single line out. I know that 1613 has tone and volume control on the same route two line out, a mono and stereo. But precisely if we could have on hand both guitars: His unplugged or acoustic sounds are equal or have a brighter tone than the other? Anyone know tell me in detail their differences and what are their similarities?

The example is good and other videos from the same show can be heard playing high notes Glen clearly. Anyway, the audio on television does not give a very accurate reference. I know what I want is not so easy to get, but if someone was able to test both guitars to choose one, probably remember the sonic differences between the two models are compared. In a recording studio sound of an instrument can be "dressed" with equalization and special effects, so I am looking for information from someone who has had these guitars in their hands.

I caught that on this one. And although it can be faint in the lights...I couldnt really catch the O logo on the headstock. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2y0_DyfBD7U ...but you can see Jerry struggling to hear his. I am sure that soon after this, Ovation threw a couple prismatones on, while they were developing their piezo, to keep this from happening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhO2Z1jNxkQ Great Reed song and you can clearly hear both of them just smoking the frets. Looking at Glens hair and chops, I would say the tom jones clip preceeds the GCGH clip... I have always wondered who ended up with Glen's Baldwin.

We all know that the differences in measures of scale, nut, etc. are seen only in the hands and affect the speed or comfort of the guitarist, but not the specific sound. From what I have read in catalogs, different Ovation guitar models differ in their measures of construction, scale of the mast, depth of bowl, but very few in the building materials. On the other hand have changed much the preamp through time, but now I'm just interested in comparing two guitars of the same era, therefore, similar in technological development. Again thank you, my friends, every one of the information provided. I'm still looking forward to your responses and input!
