Location: Chicago | (Apologies for the rerun topic.) I'd like to take my Adamas to CA, but am worried that they'll make me check it. It has a standard headstock and I could pack it in a soft case... Any advice on strategy for success? |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | I would trust the hard foam two-tone nylon covered Ovation case that Al sells, but not the cheap light-padded units typically sold at GC. |

Location: SoCal | Insist at the ticket counter on taking it to the gate. At the gate, be nice as can be and explain how important that guitar is to you. If needed, ask to talk to a flight attendant on the flight to see if they can find room. I'd say that at least 90% of the time I've got a guitar with a full hard shell case on the plane. Once in a while, they will walk it to luggage from the gate and get it back to you the same way at your destination. Only once or twice over the last 10 years have I had to check it at the ticket counter. Be firm, kind, and grovel a little.

Location: Chicago | Yes, the Eel River and the Redwoods. I have played a Hohner beater up there al this time (stored in CA), but I do miss a real guitar. I guess I fear having to check the Adamas and having it tossed around. I like the sunlglasses strategy. "Hey, I'm Bob Seeger and you are gonna do what I say!" |

I look forward to having a real guitar up there. BTW We are traveling up from Palo Alto to Humboldt probably on the 8th of July. Maybe I can swing by before? (we fly out the 6th, spend a day with family and take off. We'll be back in PA for a week in August....) |

Location: SoCal | Dob, the only problem you're going to have is going back to an Adamas II after playing the OFC I. For the GAS it will create, you might end up with a real problem..... |
