My findings were that the USA made Ovation acoustic bass with a deep bowl, knocks all the others out of the park. Deep, full tone and clarity across the tonal spectrum, just as with ovation acoustic guitars. Nothing comes close. They are also very easy to play. The only one I was never able to try out was Kim Keller's blue Adamas, which I have heard is THE best.

If that is the one he had at the 2006-ish Fanclub Gathering near the Factory... then HOLY CRAP is that a nice Bass. I played it thinking "this'll be fun" and it was so amazing sounding that it kinda distracted me from what I was supposed to be singing.
