Location: Minden, Nebraska | Greetings to my OFC friends, including those with whom I'm not yet acquainted.
This rare foray back on to the forum has to do with my '94 Collectors. The tuner function on the preamp has gone bad, and I have become quite fond of onboard tuners.
So, what preamp with a full chromatic tuner will retrofit this guitar? I'm thinking the options are Optima or OP24+C, but will they also require a pickup replacement?
Speaking of pickups, I picked up a used Line 6 Variax 300 Steel String. The pickup is cheap and does not provide uniform output across all strings. I've never had an A/C Ovation with that problem. Line 6 dc'd that pickup because of so many complaints.
