Hello!

Some time ago I acquired the 1758 12 string Ovation Elite. It's a lovely guitar, and - yes - it's quite rare nowadays.

I need a guitar close to 1758 in construction, but simpler and cheaper than 1758. I need a guitar for outdoor and various fests activities. The only variant I know is Celebrity CSE445: http://www.thomann.de/gb/ovation_cse445rb_celebrity_se.htm

Has anyone tried this model?

I've tried already modern 2758AX model, and I didn't like it.

What other variants will you suggest?

Thanks!

If it were me, I'd just find another 1758 that has some "character marks" that the collectors pass by. I've seen them turn up from time to time at the same price point as an offshore guitar.

As an alternative, the Korean made CS245 (I think that's right) were pretty decent. However, those were cutaways.

Thanks! Cutaway for a background guitar is OK. I've been thinking of CS245, but it has laminated top, CSE445 has solid one.

An ADAMAS would give you superior sound and good resistance to weather!

I'm looking for a low-bugdet or at least mid-budget guitar. Adamas will definetely give me all that I want, but it costs a lot and the role af an outdoor guitar is not good for him.

+ to Bobbo's idea.

Thats exactly what I have; a sunburst 1758 with 'character' (read a couple of repaired top cracks) for gigging, plus a natural 1758 in great shape for home playing.

Oddly, the guitar with the cracks has the better sound... The top is more open I suppose.
I imported this (via eBay) back in the day (about 5 years ago), and I repaired the cracks. Cost $306 then; a bargain then and now, but guitars with issues can still be found today with patience, and can be great players.

Mario, is this the 1758 you are selling? http://www.ebay.com/itm/111009247702

I've got just the same sunburst one

I'm not sure whether I want just the same guitar, and also you do not offer international shipping, as far as I can see. But anyway thanks and good luck to you!
