Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | This was the first one of these I've played, and it taught me that the OFC has a gift for understatement. I had heard about how nice they sounded, but was not prepared for tone like this from a guitar in this price range. It is balanced, loud, and sustains forever! I guess that's what you get with a thin layer of paint on spruce instead of a thick layer of lacquer eh?
Anyway, to keep this short, it has no issues at all. The neck is straight, the action is nice with near-zero fretwear, and the top is flat. The paint is in excellent shape as well, and the pre-amp puts out a good signal. I looked for something negative to say about it, but the best I could come up with is that I forgot to align the ball ends when the new strings went on. (I fixed that after the pictures.)
And of course, one of the most important details about this particular guitar is that it IS NOT an import. It was built in New Hartford, CT in 2005.
The case is in like-new shape, inside and out, except for a missing footpiece on the end. I dunno where it went, but it's certainly not a big deal.
I can honestly say you will not find a better guitar in this price range, especially for playing out.
I'm looking for $550 shipped in the continental U.S. If you are overseas, ask me for a quote first.
You won't be disappointed in this guitar!
