What are the differences between a Pacemaker, and a Custom Balladeer? Other than the slot head and inlays?
The Pacemaker is from '78, the CB from '82. Pacemaker is in better overall condition, but the CB has that cool inlay work going for it.

Thanks,

Joe

Dunno much about Pacemakers, but the ones I've seen appear to all be 12-string axes, no?.... Proof that you can be on the OFC for nearly a decade and know very little.

The CB in this case is also a 12 string.

What's the model number of the custom balladeer? If the bowl depth is the same between the CB and PM, then differrences will include:

PMs are 12 frets to the body while CBs are 14. (Which means the bridge will be located differently as well.)

PMs have fan bracing while CBs tend to have A-bracing. (At least mine does.)

Fan pattern

"A" Pattern

Other differences will depend on when the CB in question was made, specifically, which pre-amp is in either instrument.

Thanks Patch. The custom balladeer is model 1655-4. It's a 12 string with 6 per side tuners, in a row as usual. The pacemaker has 6 per side slot head, broken neck repair, and cracked top repair. Top looks dark, like cedar, but the CB has stereo outs, and structural flaws of its own.

Wish the CB had the slothead, and original cover. That would be perfect.

Thanks,
Joe
