Joined: October 2012 Posts: 1091 Location: Yokohama, Japan | I've been looking for a decent Elite for several years now; so, when I saw a damaged 1990 1868 up for auction at a really inexpensive price, I figured this was the one. Because I had business to attend to, I couldn't be around for the final closing bids for the auction, but I figured the guitar was not worth more than 23,000 Japanese Yen (about 200 bucks @ current Yen to $ exchange rates. So I bid 23,000 Yen and went about my day. The next morning, I was pleased to find that I had won the auction, but for a whopping 30,600 Yen (about 260 bucks)! I was aghast, how in the world could something like that happen? Lo and behold, when I thought I had typed in 23,000, I actually typed 32,000! What an idiot! Just a quick double-click without checking carefully, and now the Elite I dreamed of for years has finally arrived, and it is definitely a "project" guitar (to put it mildly). Oh well, I guess I should still be thankful that I was able to pick this up for a total of about 280 bucks (including shipment). The OP24 sounds sweet, and with some tender loving care, I should be able to bring her back to life. If I am able to get her back into good order, I should be able to get at least 600 bucks here in Japan, if not more! Pictures to follow in the BFLG!

Considering the value (assuming same price levels) of working pickup, tuners, neck, OP24 and case, then the body is free to work and these 1868 guitars are really nice looking and worth some efforts to get it working and good looking again. Having read a lot of your posts I am sure the guitar is in good hands.

I've never had dyslexia before, but lisdexia...now that sounds right about. ![]() Sure would appreciate any input on the BFLG thread. tpa - 2014-11-16 3:36 AM Congratulations. Thanks for the advice tpa...the pick-up/bridge saddle, neck, OP24 pre-amp, gold tuners and case sold separately will more than cover my "lisdexia"! Edited by arumako 2014-11-17 5:40 AM

well, I was only going to get a new set of strings, but the ones I really, really, really wanted were already on a guitar... so I had to buy it too. Purely accidental you understand.
