Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | Has anyone here made a comparison of the Fishman Solo Amp and the Bose L1? I'm looking at getting one or the other and was wondering if anyone here has any opinions?
Thanks.

Location: Boise, Idaho | The Bose should kick ***. I think the apples to apples comparison would be the Solo vs. the Bose L1 Compact. They were both going after the same market and list prices were within $100. When I was reading reviews a couple of years ago, the Bose was favored. My preference would have been spending the extra $100 for the Bose, but other things happened and I didn't get either one. |

Location: Michigan | I gig 3x/week. My main guitar is an Ovation. I host 2 open mics and have dialed in several hundred players over the last couple years. I use the Bose. I played the Fishman SA 220 and have a couple local musicians who use them - but everyone (even those with SA 220's) all prefer the Bose. Another amp to consider is the Traynor AM Custom. I have that amp as well and use it at my solo gigs. Wonderful little amp for coffee shop type venues - however the Fishman Loudboxes are less money.
I use an Allen & Heath ZED 12Fx mixer with my Bose and I get many many compliments on the sound. Demo'd all the Bose series at the store with my gear and even the Bose sales reps said for the same $500, the Allen & Heath was as good or better than the Bose module and have more inputs and much more versatile. I use an Alto 12" subwoofer with my L1 instead of the B1 or B2 bass modules. The L1 compact is great for smaller venues with the next 2 models up being just more of an already good thing.

Location: Chicago | Jeff and I have used the Bose for years. At the same time, we have also plugged into a Fishman Loudbox 100 for strategic placement as a monitor alongside the Bose (often very helpful). Both are tops at "what they do" (what they were designed for). A particular strength of the Bose is that seems omnidirectional, sort of like a sonic smoke-bomb. The Fishman is compact, powerful and crystal-clear. |
