My computer froze just as I was to submit a last-second bid to win this 1687 RI as an xmas git to myself:

Hope that an OCFer got it!

Yes indeed an OCFer did get it. That would be me.

I've been in the market for either a 1567-8 or a 1687-8 for a while now. I missed the Labor Day sale when Standingovation sold a real beauty for a very fair price a (That'll teach me to go on vacation to a remote cabin with no internet service).

I actually bid on a 1688-8 12 Stringer that sold the day before. But it got too rich for me and I really wanted a 6 string.

I was kind of surprised that nobody came sliding in to home plate with a final eBay offer to knock me out. Maybe now I know why.

I'll post pictures when it arrives.

Good luck to you next time.

Yes, I bowed out of that one too, though it looked really nice with the two knobs, case was pretty rough though.

Those were both nice adamii but my pockets weren't deep enough to get in the bidding although I seriously wanted to go after the 12 string.
I did win a Elite DS768 longneck so I do have a new guitar coming for Christmas. ??

So the 1687 did indeed show up.  It was pretty much in the condition described which was pretty good.  It was very dirty and the strings looked like they hadn't been changed in at least 2 years.  My guess is that no one was playing this thing.

Here are a few quick pics that I took:

I did a quick clean up for now.  I'll spruce her up a bit more when I get time.  I put a set of Elixir Lights on it and she sounds great!  I'm still trying to decide which Adamas I like better: My W597 or the 1687.  They're very different guitars.  I think I like the neck on the W597 better.  It's pretty much the same neck as my old Anniversary Legend but without the gloss finish.  The neck on the 1687 is a solid piece of wood and a bit thicker.
