I am finally back in Colorado for a couple weeks...reflections on the PNW Gathering...Thanks to Damon and Sara no "H". Opening their home was gracious and fun. Damon has just few guitars!....and a wicked left turn to get to his street. I need the pimento cheese spread-dip recipe...holy cow. Nice meeting all ya'll. With the exception of Mark P, I had not met any of you face to face...it was an honor. Woody, Miles, Arthur, Cavalier...and others - great people - great guitars. Regarding Cavalier...as Mark Knopfler says...- "oh yeah the boy can play". I learned there is a very real - yet subtle line between Damon's upper deck and his lower patio. Miles..way to rock out...Damon...great guitars - even better guitar playing. One of these days I should get back to playing. Also - first time with an Academy...no way that guitar should play as well as it does - and sound like it does....but it does...anyone wants to sell one...PM me....only pure woodbox I saw there was Damon's Larrivee. Great guitar....Damon...you gonna thin the herd and let it go? Some of the other events I have been to have had more than Ovations there....we are just a group who likes great guitars...and we help carve the Ovation niche. Mark...thanks for sharing 1100 miles....c'mon Oregon...why are you full serve still? Bobbo - we'll see if we can catch the next one...Great experience going from playing #43 to an Academy - to a Viper, to an OFC 1, to an OFC 2...to a 1537...all great - all different... who owned the longneck? easiest playing one I have had the pleasure to strum. Also - Mark's 47 Re is great...sweet sound.

Hey Elginacres,

I liked the Pachelbel Celtic Canon and think we were making progress on Dusted by Breaking Wind. Some of that Colordo weather looks wet, might be an excuse to head this way again. They let me pump gas in Oregon because they can't figure out my antique gas cap.

Off Topic, but True... Fuel Attendants in Oregon.

Every-so-often some law-maker proposes allowing Self-Serve Gasoline in Oregon claiming that it would lower prices... But Oregon fuel prices are the same or Less than CA and WA where they have Self-Serve.
Also, the law creates Jobs for Thousands of people. How cool is That.

At least when you're on a motorcycle, the Oregon fuel attendants are courteous enough to hand you the pump and let you fill your tank yourself.

Why on earth would anyone want to handle a highly carcinogenic substance like gasoline anyway. In any laboratory setting substances like this are handled with protective gear under a hood. If you look at the history of cancer, for many decades during industrialization this has mainly been an occupational disease, but with the shift to self serve fuel over the last few decades has now become the leading cause of death (even with declining smoking rates). I certainly prefer the full serve stations where young fools who don't know better can handle that stuff.

We should also make them test our food, try out experimental drugs, and send them to war.

Of course they tend to spill gas all over the side of your car, but aside from damaging the paint, it's great.......

Though it wasn't tooooooo bad...at a 32 pump station - with only 2 attendants, it can take a while just sittin around...i was surprised the prices weren't bad...though he expected a tip....I was kinda hoping they would check the oil...wash the windshield...check air pressure...but no on that....I just like busting on Oregon....hey it is not like I am immune here in Colorado....

Classic cars. like bikes, they let you fill up but nobody seems to wash the windshield unless you ask them to these days.

Gone... like the 60s.

"Sunny Seattle"
Who'd believe that before this dry year?

Because it's better than having them dump it all over your $12k+ bike.

Gas is great for washing parts as well as for a plethora of other uses. It's ok for fuel as a secondary usage. Anyone who hasn't spent at least half their life up to their wrists in gasoline has no right to call themselves a *** fearing apple pie loving American citizen!!
