....I wonder what this means for custom shop Ovations, specifically Adamas? I was hoping to get a custom Adamas for my 50th birthday (now 2 years away) but gave up on that idea when FMIC ceased production of US Ovations.

If you know what you want, put your order in with Al. I think he already has some waiting. He'll probably be the first to know.

You will most likely get your Birthday Present on time!

Al told me that they are not ready yet to start doing the Customs, but they will be doing them once they get set up and up to speed. He has my Order on File!

So Dream Big and get that Perfect Custom Adamas that you want!!!

Oh that is excellent, excellent news. I'm glad I didn't custom order an electric yet.

I've got a few more details to work through on the spec. When I'm done I'll shoot them to you Al. Thanks!

If they are smart they will stick to acoustics(acoustic-electrics), don't build electrics. The world is not waiting for another one. Really, they are not.

Just got off the phone with Guitar Center in Southington CT.

They have a WHITE UKII!!!! A pretty cool and rare bowtie one with the pick guard attached... However, he said there were some pretty heavy stress cracks at the neck joint, the kind you get when you tighten the neck too much, so I left it alone.

But during the call (with the Manager of the store), I asked if he could just ship it to New Hartford if I did decide to do it.

His response, "I'm so sorry, I hate to tell you this, but Ovation is no longer in business". This is coming from the Manager of a Guitar Center not even what?... an hour away from New Hartford?

I hope when this all happens we can get some reps on the ground visiting and training the sales force out there... not to mention a store or two in each major metro area with some stock, maybe bypassing Guitar Center all together and working with larger indy stores like American Music here locally where I bought my first Acoustic O. Had there not been a USA Ovation having there, I'da walked away with a Seagull or Taylor or something.

GC is to be avoided at all costs. They are totally clueless, but hey that comes from Larry Thomas. I'd buy that guitar, except for the fact it's from GC and I NEVER buy anything from them, not even strings

One of my favorite Brit guitarists, Steve Hackett used to play a black UKII. As a violin guy guitars are workhorses and I can't justify the big tickets....if Al offers a 5 year layaway plan I'd love to upgrade.
