| Hi I have just joined the site today, so first I'd like to say hello to everyone, I'm from the UK and live in a seaside town called Southport, which is 25 miles up the coast from Liverpool.
Yesterday I bought an ovation Celebrity online off eBay, (it won't arrive for a few days), all I know so far is that I think it's the Celebrity CC024 made 10 or 11 years ago, (it might be a later model) I will know more when it arrives, I do know its lefthanded.
I have searched everywhere trying to get a left handed one here in England, they are really hard to find, so I ended up paying £300.00 which is = $469.00
Although I'm not 100% as its a dim photo it looks like it's got the OP11 pre amp fitted, I've read that this is easy to upgrade to a later model? can someone please advise me on this?
Would anyone know if the upgraded (later ones) can be bought in the UK? Or do I have to buy in America.
Right I will leave it at that for now. Regards to everyone Allan

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | HERE is a manual for an OP-11. (also OP-20 and OP-30)
When you get to the bottom of the page, click HOME and search the rest of the Ovation Tribute site.
Anyway... An OP-11 is the same as an OP-20 without the tuner.
So, just buy a Snark tuner and you will be all set.
If you decide that you want to switch preamp, I think that you can just drop an OP-20/30 into that can.
BUT! You will need to find a left-handed preamp.

(see? Lefty, Righty)
If you want to upgrade to an OP-Pro Series, you can change the can.
They come-out easily and are designed to be changed by a lay-person.
But, once again, you will need to find a left-handed model.

| Thank you very much for the advice and help, yeah I didn't think of the left and right thing on the pre amp, I will have to check that out, I have ordered a korg tuner, that should be on its way with a few other things, Line 6 1V spider Amp, some new strings, capo, strap, strap locks, picks.
Oh that's one thing I'm not sure of, is the jack socket stereo or mono? Do I need to buy a stereo lead for the amp or a mono one, I'm not sure what the set up on the Celebrity is? Regards Allan |

Just a regular guitar cable will work fine.

| Thank you, I will buy a lead tomorrow, so when the Guitar arrives, I will have everything I need, apart from practise.
I last picked up a guitar about 30 years ago so it should be fun if nothing else, but I'm looking forward to it really, I'm thinking of getting my son a guitar too, mind you I'm not sure if that's a good idea, (I might need ear muffs, or to sound proof his room). |
