| Hello. I'm new to the group and glad to be part of the community. I wanted to ask if anyone had information about this particular model that I came to purchase in a pawn shop about 30 years ago. All I can find is that the body style is a "Breadwinner", but have also just recently learned they made a 12 string version called a "Limited". Does anyone know how many were made and if they are considered rare/valuable? It's been in the case most of the time I've owned it and in really good shape. Thank you for your help! |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Hi Steve. Yes, 12-String Breadwinners are rare.
I think that the 12-Strings are actually "Deacon" models.
But that would depend on the body wood and fret markers.
Anyway, to post photos... here are some Directions
Or! The easiest way is to post the photos on another photo hosting site and just put the link address here. Then we can go there to look. Be sure that the photos a marked "public" so everyone can see them.

As I mentioned in the email, but likely not clearly, there was both a 6 and a 12-string version of the Limited. The body was based on the Breadwinner/Deacon design, but was different. It's believed less than 1000, maybe less than 800 of the Limted were made and only a small portion were 12-String models.
Also as OMA mentions above, there was a Deacon 12-string, but no "production" 12-string breadwinners. There may be some one-off 12-string breadwinners around, but I can't recall seeing one specifically.

| Thank you for the reply! I am a little hamstrung when it comes to technology so wasn't able to insert a pic per the instructions so hope this works just as well. Here's a pic of the 12 string and based on what I'm hearing, it looks like I indeed have a "Breadwinner" 12 string. Based on another post I read, it looks like there were few made and not in standard production.

| Thanks for the reply and upgrade! Based on the picture, would you say that I indeed have a 12 string Breadwinner?

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | No you have a "12-String Limited" not a Breadwinner. Note "Limited" is capitalized. It's the name.
I uploaded the picture you sent me as your photos aren't showing up. I think you need to set their permissions to be public.
