Location: Calgary-Alberta, Canada | Hey everyone I just joined up today, I'm hoping I can get a few questions answered, maybe answer a few myself, and generally just be a part of the discussion. I have myself an Ovation-1661 Balladeer Cutaway That my uncle gave to me, from 1982-3 I believe? It has a deep bowl and fantastic sound. Unfortunately I've never been a fantastic guitar player, especially not since I broke a couple things in my right hand awhile back (lol), but I aim to one day be able to pick up a guitar (hopefully another ovation) and play properly. So there you have it! my opening statement haha By the way how do I add a Signature to the post?

Your Balladeer is the first year they did cutaways, I'd say '83. If you look inside, you'll see they actually cutaway the deep bowl and added another pice to finish the cutaway. This was done for about a year until they came up with new molds for the cutaways. The model number was changed too, so the 1661 was around for a very short time.
