While that would be nice, I find it difficult to believe, because the guitar is basically in mint condition. The serial number is 5613 typed on a rectangular paper label and is also stamped, inside on the neck butt. Anyway it is nice to be here amongst like minded folks and any info I can get would be appreciated.

I used to have an Applause that I was very fond of but this is my first Ovation and now that I am aware of its age I am a little reluctant to play it.The guitar came from a pawnshop in Maryland with some fairly stiff bronze strings on it. I've been used to playing Martin Silk & Steels and I wonder if they would be copacetic for this guitar ? I had them on my old Applause and they were fine but I intend to be a little more cautious with this one. I guess I'll stick around for a bit and as more questions come to mind, there seem to be folks here that know the answers. Thanks again.

I still say 69 or 70, especially with the tuners... kluson right? OR Coulda redone the top at some point. I assume the bowl has a textured finish? Or is it glossy and smooth?

Yes it has the textured bowl and I am unsure about the tuners.

You need to put the address for the image itself, not a page the image is displayed on. Had you clicked on your image to where it opens up to the full size, then right clicked and selected 'copy image address' and used that, your image woulda shown up like this...
