I wonder what I could get on the Black Market for some used parts.
This is beyond a Dream Come True....

http://www.ebay.com/itm/John-Denver-Owned-Ovation-Adamas-12-String-...

There is NO way to justify that, but Holy Buckets! I would let it sleep next to me in bed and make it Breakfast!!!

AND.... it is signed by Beal too!!!

This guitar has been offered before.
Y'know the MotherShip will build you a copy of this for much less.
And it will have all the epaulets intact.

60? you know with that signature it automatically goes to 30 and the downward bidding starts there.

LMAO!!!!!!! I have been trying to figure out how to get one of those signed Guitars, and with this one, it would be John Denver's AND have your Signature! I could die a Happy Nan!!

It says $60,000 OBO, so I made an offer!

Not as a joke at all! John Denver was a huge influence in my teenage years, and my getting into guitar. I could not in good conscience NOT try. So I put in the biggest bid I could go, and Thanked them very much for the opportunity to bid on one of his Guitars! They of course Declined the offer, but By God! I got to submit a bid on a John Denver 12 String Adamas!!!!!

That is Far Out!!!!!!

It is intriguing! And you are to be commended at being happy for being refused! Better to have tried and failed than never to have tried!

Given how hard JD was with his guitars, you can bet this one, like all the others, was ridden hard and put away wet. (Nancy will get that joke!)

****SNORT****

LMAO!!!!!!!!!

That is HILARIOUS Dan!! I honest to God, just used that term in a note I was writing to someone about a guitar looking handled rough too! OMG that is HILARIOUS!!!!! Thank You!!!!

(My Mom was born and raised in WY, and her Dad used to break horses for the Calvary. My ex was a working Cowboy from MT, and I have been on a horse since I was 4 years old. I tend to use horse analogies frequently because I grew up with them.) Great Job Dan!!!!!!

It was SO Exciting Dave!!! I know it is a pain in the butt for the people on the other side, but it meant SO much to me to be able to have bid on one of his Adamas, and I was very polite, and Thanked them. And I did put in a bid as to what I thought an un-famous(?) Adamas would go for, I put a real amount, not like .50.

Yes, at least I tried, I can honestly say that I bid on a John Denver 12 String Adamas!

From your mouth to God's Ear please!!!

I let a Red 12 String 1688-2 Adamas slip through my hands from here once before, I won't be that stupid again!

I could see one of his early Guilds commanding a high auction price. But, while he owned several, Ovations were a passing fancy. By his later Taylor years, he made unflattering comments about O's.

You can have the red 1688 if I can get a 1688-7 biege burst.
If anyone's reading this and has a 1688 that's not getting attention you have two ovation enthusiasts here that would love to give it a good home,I'd even offer to trade one of my beauty's as part of the deal so we each get a new toy.
