Location: Scotland | Myself and Susan have just got back to Cliff's from a day out in Manhattan. Had a great time trawling around book, DVD and guitar stores, drinking and eating (ate softshell crab for the 3rd time in 2 days) Had a chance meeting on Union Square with a personal hero of mine and just spent the last coupla hours laughing our asses off at a comedy club.
The whole "Member Of The Year" thing was totally unexpected, you guys really worked me over good. (Kinda Like A Waring Blender - 10 points for the first person to spot the Zevon reference) As Al said, I was totally speechless and whatever tumbled out of my mouth may have been crap, but I assure you it was sincere and heartfelt crap and I meant every word.
As far as internet guitar forums go, this one is truly unique. It is populated by such a bunch of very diverse, raggedy-assed individuals that any sensible person would expect any actual meeting to be a train-wreck. 5 years of OFC tours and countless other relationships off the board have proved that not to be the case. I am proud and honoured to part of the OFC and I thank all of you sincerely for your kind words.
It was great to see the regulars again and to put faces to new names. (Mike, that song is killer!) See you all next year.

Location: NJ | Before Temp and Susan winged their way Home (yesterday), they spent all day and goodly part of the night cavorting around Manhattan while Jeanette and I returned to work.
I tried "waiting up" for them, but I had a 6 a.m. meeting in theCity myself the next morning (and I had already been running on Lack O'Sleep). Before I "crashed", I switched on Letterman, as I was half-expecting t'see Paul sitting-in with the band . . . |
