The high E string buzzes most of the way down the neck.
None of the others do...
Do I need to adjust the truss rod?
Or should I put in a .030 shim, that I have left from my 4961?

Next two questions:
CAN I use an old shim from a 4861 on a 1112?
HOW do I adjust the truss rod on a 1112?

Once again, Please Educate Me!

arthur, your 1112 balladeer should use a 1/4in nutdriver to adjust at the peghead under the trc. yes you can use the shims if both have a wide slot, wich they should....im not much help but theres what i got to offer...jason

You're alittle help.
Actually, they both have slim saddles.
But the shim is wider (thicker) on one end than the other...
I would figger that I would put the widest end towards the high E,
since that is were the problem is.
I am glad about the info on the Nut driver,
cuz I should have one of them.
I don't wanna adjust that if I can avoid it.

The sad thing is... This sucka had really NICE action,
except for that little problem with the E.
I guess that I'm gonna have to sacrifice this brand-spankin'-new set of strings...
Unless there is a way to save them.
I guess I will use the old ones to see if the action is right.
Once I get it right, I'll put new ones on.
I have a few sets of EJ16, and a load of EJ15's.

Did it! I found two white .030 shims already in there. They were totally flat.
So I put the inclined one in there. High end toward the high end.
The action is still nice. But, wow!
Someone sat on this poor guitar. It has stress-fractures everywhere!
In the bowl too! I Elmer's Glued the ones in the top.
But it still sounds nice... Weird!
I'll hang-on to it, until I pass it on...
