 Hi folks-SteveC.P. here-new guy on the block, wanted to let ya know I have been playin for the better part of 40 years,I have got a Guild acoustic guitar, and I decided to upgrade to a acoustic/electric;SO;I went to a Guitar Center over Flint way near me- WOW!!!!IT WAS JUST LIKE HEAVEN!!!! :p All those guitars, just waitin for me to get my hands on em.Now;Im not talkin starter guitars-they had em,of course-Im talkin Martins,Taylors,Ovations,Gibsons-Anyway,I had to play most all the big names;just to get a feeling of what I wanted--WELL;when I picked up a Ovation and plugged it in,I knew I had met my new guitar!!! :) It sounded better,in my opinion, than the Taylors AND the Martins. So,Friday,I ordered me a 6778 Elite Standard from Musicians friend-in New England Burst,of course---I am turnin her loose this Sunday in church-they got a nice big old Fender amp just sittin there, waitin to be used-Its gonna be all I can do to keep from rippin into Peggy Sue-I think I will save that in case I play a hurricane benefit.I CANT WAIT-my new axe will be here Wednesday...Im sorry this posting rattles on,but Im as happy as a hog in the mud,and I had to share it.Take care brothers and sisters;and'play that thing'.

A new member and one that recognizes the quality and value of Ovations over some of the big name wood boxes.

CP....I think you have a bright future here at the OFC :D

Welcome, Steve (Steve# 31, btw)! As Stephen said, we always like to see new members who appreciate quality guitars like the 6778LXNEB. I mean anyone who would own one of these fine beauties is surely a person of distinction, class and good taste, worthy of high office and prestige... and probably a darn good picker as well.
Sir, we are honored to have such a respectable personage as yourself join our club. I'm sure you will easily stand out from the other 30 Steves (other... members who may not have your discerning taste in fine instruments).

Got any carrots?

Welcome to the club. There are lots of church players here, and lots who play elsewhere. But we all play Ovations, with occasional after curfew forays to the dark side where the Guilds, Larrivees, Breedloves, etc. lurk.

I played Guilds exclusively for many years. I still like Guild guitars. I LOVE my Ovations. [sniff.... it's such a tender moment....}

Not true, Steve. The guitar you bought, in fact the current USA Elite line, is probably one of the best bargains in acoustic/electric guitars going today. They're beautiful, built with great care (I saw them doing it!!) and attention, are extremely consistant quality-wise as a product line, and sound as good as many guitars selling for twice as much, IMHO.

Your tastes, in this case, aren't expensive. They are, however, very discerning. In an Ovation, I think you get more than you pay for.

ya know;its kinda funny-for the unfamiliar;one guitar is as good as the next.....My wife asked me the other day what I look for in a new guitar.well,I started in with"projection, acoustic properties,resonance,sustain,action"...she just looked at me and said,"OK,lets change the subject".You all know what Im talkin about:When ya hear what ya want, you will know it-nothing else matters as much as that FEELING you get when you know its the right one.
