Random quote: “Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” -Plato

The only Elvis that I "recognize" is Costello.

People are often too "afraid"(for some strange reason) to come up and ask for requests . . .

Maybe it's the "No Fat Chicks" sign . . .

Cliff can handle that.
Al could handle that.
Even I could handle that.
I'm working hard on "Tatoo". Awkward chord changes up the neck and high up vocals.

A few I like:

Pancho and Lefty (Emmylou)
Squeezebox (The Who)
Me and Julio Down By The Schoolyard (P.Simon)
Shooting Star (Bad Co)
Old Tennessee (Fogleberg)
Pieces of April (Dave Loggins)
Peace of Mind (Loggins and Messina)

And possibly the best song ever recorded:
No Woman No Cry (B Marley)

Dave Loggins had some really good ones: Please Come To Boston and Sunset Woman come to mind.

...and I once heard a guy do an acoustic version of Elton John's "Little Jeannie" that was good

I enjoy performing anything by Yoko Ono. Think of it this way, what cover could you possibly perform that is assured not to suck anywhere near as much as the original did ??? Dave

Dave;
When last we were in CT, Al was scouring the local Borders looking for the YokoOhNo BoxSet . . . see if you can hook him up . . .

I personally thought her BoxSet should come in a BAG (so that you could take the bag and put it over . . . well, . . you get the idea . . .)

How about:
Ring of Fire
Panama Red
El Paso
Happy Together

Edit: I just reread your criteria, I think they may be too popular, though they are crowd pleasers.
