Location: Evansville,IN | I remember when I was a kid, maybe 5-6 years old. We had a company at our airport called Kaman Air. I was just curious as to whether they were in the same family as the Ovation guitar?
This was back in the '50's, as they weren't using jets for passenger flights. :D |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Actually it was called AirKaman and there was one in CT and one in Omaha and one in Florida. They were started in the 60's. CT and Omaha were sold in the 80's I think, and Jacksonville Fla provided an interesting break from the music business in 97 when the corporation didn't want to be in the fueling business anymore. The rest, as they say, is history. |

Location: Evansville,IN | I lived in Omaha at the time. This was one of the more predominate buildings there, of course this was many years ago, and things have changed there considerably since that time. You are absolutely right it was AirKaman, and if I remember right it sat right next to Cessna aircraft. :) Small world. :D Must have been the early '60's, as we used to ride our bikes to the aiport and watch the planes takeoff and land. I thought it was earlier but you know how your mind can play tricks on you when you get some age on you. :D |
