I in a recent post, I mentioned the Experience Music Project (nicknamed EMP.) Located in the center of Seattle, it is a worthwhile destination for any visitor, young or old.

Part of the multi story (ugly) building is a guitar museum, and it displays ancient and modern guitars , including some knock-out examples of expensive and rare guitars, complete with lots of interesting information about their construction and the makers. Slide, lap, classical, electric, reso-phonic, it's all there.

However, altho the Ovation they display is a nylon string model, it is strung with steel strings!

Oh well, no harm, no foul, I guess.

I had heard they had an Ovation. I've also heard it was worth visiting.

The Ovation displayed at EMP is a 14 fret 1624 nylon string very early serial number.I sold it to them along with a early label 1967 shiny bowl balladeer that they did not use for display. The 1624 was the first year of acoustic /electric..If they have it strung with steel string then they changed it after i sent it to them.I do remeber them not really wanting a nylon string but wanted a first year A/E so that would explain the steel strings on a 1624.They also bought the first catalog Ovation made in 1967(four inserts with the first four models within a folder in black and white)very rare catalog..

Ran across this at a local newsstand over the weekend . . .
This is the "bonus CD" that comes with the Buyer'sGuide issue. I picked up the issue (ahem) PURELY for . . . . "Ovation . . . Marketing Research" (yeah, THAT'S it!).

I don't think Jenna Jameson actually plays guitar, but . . . I've uh, . . HEARD that's she's somewhat "talented", and . . uh, . . HAS in fact handled a Longneck . . . or three . . . . .

ANYWAY! . . . the issue kind of gives an "overview" of electrics, acoustics (Adamas SlotHead and the EliteLX got favourable reviews), amps, effects, home recording, etc. . .
The CD has some Flash presentations of various products, .pdf's of numerous catalogs, and a BUNCH of video presentations from vendor booths at the last NAMM Show (Martin, Taylor, RainSong, . . . and, uh, . . NOvation). There IS though, a pretty cool promotional video from Hamer featuring Jol Danzig (including a "flashback" pic of him with long hair).

I . . uh, . . . understand that there is also a video of Ms. Jameson's photoshoots for the issue on there as well, . . . but I . . uh, . . don't "recall seeing it" . . . . "to the best of my knowledge" . . . . "at this time" . . .

I can't quite match the above post, but I caught the first 1/2 hour of a movie called "Saving Silverman". A nice Legand and Elite were featured.

You woulda thought she'd be better associated with Johnson guitars.

Yep, they're selling guitars, alright. That's their story, and they're stickin' to it (or the pages).

Just remember tho, that gallery was one of the things that chased "Lisa" away . . .

. . . that and the three 6's that're visible when my hair is parted in a certain way . . .
