I am hiding from the west coast rain in SoCal. A good chance to ship my es to New Hartford. It is already there, and I am awaiting a response from John B. Should have it back before we head back to Can.
I have had some grief with this one. Badly lifted lower bout, and raised fretboard extension. It may have had a neck re-set along the way too. I would love to have it sorted, so it can age as gracefully as my other Ovations. Here at OFC I see nothing but praise for the MS, so I shipped it off with confidense. I would not dare to let anybody else work on it.
I'll keep you posted.
And all my best wishes to all of you for the coming year.

Hovard

It never rains in California. Seriously. 2013 is the driest year for Los Angeles in all of their recorded history. But a nice respite from the evergreen mist that is the PacificNorthWest.

Your confidence will be well rewarded. Looking forward to hearing the "after" story.

It will be a great 2014.

Hovard - I brought my ES to the MS a while back because the bridge popped off one night. It came back in better condition then when I first bought it. You will definitely be happy with the results.

So... When I read the Title of this Thread I wondered Why you would wanna send your guitar to Mississippi.

Y'know, we will need pictures.

I thought maybe those sotherners would inject some good blues into my guitar, badly needed..
Sure is dry. My hygrometer has been blank since I got here, and the "backup Balladeer" sleeps in its case evry night with a couple of Oasis' tucked in.
At home there'd be moss growing in there!
Should get the verdict in a couple of days. X-mas in Jan? or diminishing returns...

I have the exact opposite problem here in Queensland.  Trying to keep the humidity DOWN..

The Ovations handle the humidity admirably, but my wood-box Maton is a bloody sponge.  I keep it in its case with 1/2 ton of desiccant and the case hygrometer is still somewhere between 60 and 70.

Back on topic... There seem to be a few '05Cs going home for some TLC. I had to send mine back too (from Australia) for a neck reset.  The '05 was the first of the new breed and I wonder if there were a few other subtle changes to the design that were flawed?
