Try a search here for Ovation amp if you can't find any on ebay. We had a thread not long ago discussing the amps. Seems like there were a few on ebay in the $200 plus range, but I'm not sure which models they were or how they compared to the K6442.

As a long time collector of all things Ovation Electric related... I can tell you the amps are a conundrum. 1st, they are phenomenal amps, and frankly stand the test of time. In the words of someone who should know when I was researching how many were made.. the answer... "a crapload". But very few comparatively make it to the second hand market. When they sold new, they were pricey and worth it. As mentioned above, some more recently cracked the $200 mark when on ebay, but I can tell you of the storage unit full of Ovation amps of all shapes and sizes that I have picked up in the last 10-15 years, I don't think I paid more than $200 and rarely more than 100 for any of them. In the late 60's they retailed for about $479 which was in the area of a Fender Twin or a Marshal 50 or a decent used car or 4 months rent for perspective.

Thanks gang. There's one here on local C/L that I'll go over and look/test. I've got a Crate amp, but it would be fun to use an Ovation amp.

Thanks......

I don't like to set benchmarks for anyone else. Pay what you think it's worth. I got my Li'l Dude for $50 off a Craigslist ad from some little town south of Portland. It was listed at higher prices for a long time and I figured someone like Old Man Arthur would get it, but shipping would have been out of the question. My brother who lives in Portland was taking his kid that way for a soccer match and picked it up for me. If you're into Ovations they are neat to have, but there are better amps that are definitely lighter these days.
Miles, do you have any of those "Ovation Kaman" emblems from the front of them in your parts bin?
