Since there is all this news about the Ovation Phoenix rising from the ashes, and coincidently NAMM is THIS weekend, I'm curious if there is any news from the front - Nashville? Is there an dedicated Ovation Guitar Booth? Is the gang, the powers that be, on-site at NAMM? Bueller? Anyone?

That's at least three of us! I wish I had the creds to go; I'm only a half-hour from there, and would love to give a report

I'd guess not but I don't know. The announcement was just made. What are they going to show? Besides, the summer NAMM show is really a non event.

Good points (but I'd gladly run a couple up there for a "shape of things to come" display )

I'm hoping for a product line announcement - "will be in stores by" message. I remember that when DW announced that they bought KMC, they said there would be an announcement next year - meaning 2016. I was hoping that maybe things had sped up and given the July 4 message, we would have a date when we could look forward to "guitars in stores."

It's all moot for me anyway - I don't have any money - lol.

Nothing makes it to market as fast as rumour and speculation.

Yeah... But when DW released a post with Lita Ford and that dude with the earring in his lip, there were some people here (me) who pointed-out that the guitars were Korean models.
So why go to NAMM with nothing new?
They could go there and say that Celebrity guitars are still being made in Asia...
And I don't know... Did DW get the Korean AX manufacturing outta the deal?
They could say that they might actually be making guitars in New Hartford by 2016.
But is that worth opening a booth?

I really would have liked seeing an Ovation booth in the NAMM videos.
But the last booth that I saw had monstrosities with bridge pins...
So maybe it is good to wait.

I was hoping for the "what's old is new again" product line ANNOUNCEMENT. In retrospect, a booth may have over done it given that there are probably no actual newly made guitars. Nonetheless, given that DW probabaly has a booth there anyway, I thought maybe the leadership would have a presence at the show to build excitement for the brand.

Regardless, thank you Al for the insight.

(Not to belittle Al's comment, if some one with firsthand expereince from the show can comment, I'm curious.)

There was an Ovation booth at Musikmesse in Germany and likely one in Nashville and I'm sure lots of talk about Ovation models that they should build with the stores that might actually buy them. Remember while I lot of folks on here don't seem to care about the import models, they sell a boatload of them and hopefully will continue to do so. As Al stated... January 2016 is likely the earliest we'll see anything ready for Production and Made In USA.

On the "business" side, remember it's more than just plugging in machines. There's inspections, licenses, EPA approvals, OSHA, and oh yeah... hiring and training people. Slow and steady wins the race, and gets it done right.

We will have our own booth in 2016 without congas and bass amps and other distractions. Just keep sending positive vibes into the universe Its impossible to push the go button over night.
