Greetings,
I'm overwhelmed by the vast history of models. I'm looking for a used acoustic steel 6-string AE model , for under $1200.

1) I prefer thinner necks: which models/years have thinner necks?
2) I prefer slick necks. Which models/years have low/no friction neck finishes?
3) Were any models made with a shorter scale length (not 3/4, more like a gibson 24.75")?
4) Are there any 'golden years' for Ovation? Especially good workmanship? Or bad years, when things were sour for a time? Things to watch out for?
5) Preamps: Has the sound quality got noticeably better in recent years? Are higher numbers better: OP-50 is better than OP-30? Or is it more about features rather than sound quality?

I'm looking for a mid or shallow bowl, not deep.
Based on a $1200 budget, which models should I be focusing on?
A lot of questions, I know! Thanks
