What's that like. Always wanted to try one. I love the sound.

Sorry I didn't mean for this to go to the for sale section.

Never played one but I've seen them often enough; looks like the usual sort of deal, bang on the strings and move your fingers around etc. but I would imagine that it's a lot of work before you can get any kind of decent sound from it at ll.

I never liked those commercials Bill Cosby did for cello.

...and they take up a lot more room. Can you imagine the size closet you would need to store the cases?

Usually. But I got one for my wife to learn on several years back. I was the only bidder on the auction, probably because the ad said it needed work. I put a couple hundred bucks into a set up, but non-cellist that I am, I thought it looked pretty decent.

The luthier (Randy Woods near Savannah, GA), copied the serial number while I was there and told me to look it up.

Turned out to be a Kay cello made in 1938!

I have no idea what it's really worth, but probably more than the several hundred I spent on it. (About the cost of a used Legend from the 'Bay.)

And most importantly?

She loves it!

So then, you don't want to sell it to me for what you paid?
