Seems like rather a lot of guitar for not too huge an amount. Don't even know how they could make this guitar for that price?. I've always liked Ibanez George Bensons, but now the originals go for huge coinage on eBay... This looks like a similar concept. Have never been a fan of offshore guitars, but the Koreans are probably the best of the lot... Hmmm, might have to have a look.

It is considered in quality and price and sound, somewhere in the middle of the range. Usually, a Crafter goes for between US$200 to US$1,000. The sound quality is all over the map, though, as well as the build quality.

I can't find ANYTHING about that company on these here interwebs. I asked the shop owner about the company, and all he would tell me is that "Mars is Korea Ovation Brother!" STK, do you know anything about that being you are in Korea and all? Kinda Crappy pic below. ![]()

Probably the reason that they are able to keep the price down is because of relatively cheap labor. I had a laminate Walden (made in China) that was relatively cheap, but it was a nice guitar. Probably about 20-30 guitar shops in that place. I have seen many brand names I have never heard or seen before. The bigger Korean brands are Crafter, Dexter, and Samic. These companies also produce OEM products such as Epiphone, Fender, Ovation-Celebrity, etc. The price range is around US$200 and up to US$1,000. Even cheaper models are now being produced in China due to labor costs. Your Mars is probably a Ovation Celebrity which has been modified at the factory. Did you pay roughly about US$200-300?

Yep, paid $290 for the Mars. It isn't an Ovation mod though, the soundholes in the soundboard aren't quite right, close to a Tangent though, and there isn't a rear access door on the bowl. It looks as though the soundboard was just glued to the bowl with no reguard to future maintenance. Its a super shallow but is REALLY loud compared to my iDea. The neck is slimmer and faster, but I can tell this thing will be shot after another 2 years or so. But it was cheap, and I like the look, very original.load.toad: I have no idea about the Mars brand. There is a place in Seoul where the whole building is dedicated to music instruments.
